FREELANCE PROJECT MANAGER —

This Memento is best described as an immersive insight and strategy agency with offices in Amsterdam and Berlin. We have made it our mission to get under the skin of people by applying anthropological methods to research.

We are looking for Freelance Project Managers to assist us during projects. The Freelance Project Managers are responsible to work with senior stakeholders, as well as partners and clients. They are responsible for the success of the projects they lead, including but not limited to: requirements gathering and needs analyses, presentations of findings & requests for support, leading the project team, administration of the project documents & supporting meetings, as well as constant alignment of their initiatives to the goals. They are challenged to learn & adapt to new tools & technologies as a part of being a champion of change. This role supports the high velocity of change and enables an agile development environment where releases are frequency & impact many layers of the organization.



COMPETENCIES

Experience

  • Higher professional education or academic background, preferably in Anthropology. Experience with consumer research is an advantage

  • At least 3 to 5 years of demonstrable / proven experience in project management (at HBO work and thinking level)

  • Understanding of and experience with complex project administrative issues like finances, budgeting, procedures, legal issues, and organization

  • Proven ability to prioritize project deliverables and history of quality assurance across projects;

  • Experience working directly with clients at all levels

  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record working on several (medium/large-sized) projects simultaneously;

  • Ability to balance competing demands and deal with ambiguity and a changing environment;

  • Strong critical thinking in complex situations

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;

Skills

  • Working with Office 365, Sharepoint, Keynote and Toggl

  • A very good command of the Dutch and English (French and or German is an advantage) language (speaking and writing)

  • Analytically strong

Logistics

  • Currently lives in (or around) Amsterdam, Berlin

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day-to-day executive management of the relevant projects(s) and follow up on requirements set by the organization;

  • Management of internal relations with project co-workers;

  • Management of legal, financial and administrative obligations of the projects;

  • Prepare reports, both internal and external;

  • Financial management and reporting, in close cooperation with the Director of Operations;

  • Coordinate schedules, book meetings/conferences/summits as well as other events;

  • Coordinating meetings/workshops (e.g. invites, meeting rooms, …);

  • Maintain contacts with external stakeholders and act as first contact for the relevant projects;

  • Maintain high-level of engagement among geographically-diverse stakeholders through social channels, email, facilitation & setup of virtual meetings & classroom settings, as well as individual in-person meetings;

  • Actively support Researchers & Strategists during projects;

  • Contribute to the further enhancement and development of the department of project management, actively collaborate with and offer advice to colleagues;

  • Draft communications and send them out;

  • Minuting meetings;

  • Prepare and provide input for meetings;

  • Drive discipline of agility in planning, execution, & evaluation of success of projects.
